But that’s not all…

Candle Making Supplies

The right candle supplies are crucial

The right candle supplies are crucial

We have an awesome selection of candle making supplies that we have used, abused, and tested.  We only list supplies that we feel will deliver not only great quality, but will deliver great quality on a consistent basis.  After all, it isn’t helpful if it isn’t consistent.  These supplies cover everything from simple wick tabs to complex candle molds, so be sure to check there if you need anything for your crafts or business.  What supplies?

One of the biggest things that we supply are different kinds of wicks and wick tabs, simply because placing the wick can be the most frustrating and annoying part of the candle making process.  By getting the right wicks for your project, you’ll make it go much faster and much less stressful. Of course, wicks aren’t useful without something to put them in.

That is where the wax comes in.  Believe it or not, there are several types of candle wax that you can use, and they all play together a little bit differently.  Some melt slower than others, some melt and a really low temperature, and some melt at a really high temperature.  As you start to learn the characteristics of the different waxes, you will start to know which one to use for different applications.  This will result in better candles with a more consistent flame, which of course you want.

If you're just starting, try a candle kit

For those that want to get started with candle making right away we have candle making kits.  These kits have everything that you need to get started in candle making right away and save a ton of time and headache versus learning everything, purchasing everything, and then getting started.  After all, some people want to learn by doing instead of spending the time reading through everything or watching videos.

These kits range in price, but to be perfectly honest some of the $20 ones will do just fine for showing you exactly how to make your own candle from scratch.  If you want to make a few, try getting a few different kits to see which one you like best, then you can just purchase more supplies as you need them once you’ve learned how to do it.

These kits can also be a great gift for anyone that is interested in crafts as they offer a great way to get into candle making without any prep work, so keep them in mind the next holiday that you’re having trouble finding a gift.

Candle Making Tips, Tricks, Cheats, and Recipes

Candles can be simple

To be perfectly honest, candle making is just like anything else: once you know not only know what to do, but now WHY you are doing it and HOW it works, you will have absolutely no problems at all consistently creating your own candles at home.  Once you have gotten the consistency down and you are comfortable creating regular candles, you can move on to the most interesting and challenging projects.

For example, you could try making a pillar candle once you’ve made a few votive candles.  While pillar candles can be expensive to make, you will have an immense feeling of pride once it is done.  Plus, they burn for hundreds of hours (depending on the size), so you can enjoy them for months before they are burned out.  Additionally, pillar candles can be on of the most profitable types of candle to make.  So if you do have your own candle business (or want to start one), try to get started with pillar candles as soon as possible.
